Bater re-elected chairman of Inner Mongolia

HOHHOT - Bater was re-elected chairman of north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Thursday at the first session of the 12th regional People's Congress, the local legislature.

Bater, 57, was a native of Kangping, northeast China's Liaoning Province. He joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in December 1981.

He was appointed vice chairman and acting chairman of Inner Mongolia in April 2008. He was first elected chairman of the autonomous region in January 2009.

Bater was also elected one of the 205 members of the 18th CPC Central Committee at the 18th CPC National Congress held in November 2012.

At the same session, Wang Jun was elected chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Inner Mongolia.

Wang, former governor of north China's Shanxi Province, was appointed secretary of the CPC Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regional Committee in December 2012.
