HONG KONG - Hong Kong's chief executive CY Leung expressed his hope for a good start in the relationship between the Legislative and Executive Councils, he said during a luncheon hosted for the new-term Legislative Council members at the city's central government offices Monday.
Leung said he had announced several new measures at a question- and-answer session in Legislative Council two weeks after assuming duty, and assured them he would continue to attach great importance to the relationship between Legislative and Executive Councils.
He said some principal officials have been arranging meetings with the new-term LegCo members to discuss matters of common interest, adding that he has asked director of the chief executive 's office Edward Yau to coordinate the works for the chief executive's office and the principal officials.
Sixteen of 20 principal officials were present at the luncheon.
