HONG KONG - Hong Kong's Secretary for Food and Health Ko Wing-man will lead a delegation to Macao Monday for the 11th Joint Meeting of Senior Health Officials of the Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao, the city's Information Service Department said Sunday.

At the meeting, senior health officials will exchange views and share experiences in four areas to further strengthen the foundation for cooperation among the three places.

The topics for discussion include health policies on coping with the aging population, infrastructural facilities and management of health information, preparedness and cooperation in prevention and control of new flu viruses and policy exchanges and prospects under the Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement.

It is hoped the three places can play a complementary role to each other with the common objective of safeguarding public health.

Ko will deliver a speech at the opening ceremony, outlining Hong Kong's work progress and future plans in the above areas.

Members of the Hong Kong delegation include Director of Health Constance Chan and Hospital Authority Chief Executive Leung Pak-yin. Ko will return to Hong Kong on the same day.
