The Supreme People's Court reported on Monday the implementation progress and the subsequent work schedule regarding The Third Five-year Reform Outline of People's Courts (2009-13), (the Outline). According to the information revealed, of all the 132 reform tasks assigned by the Outline, 108 have been accomplished and another 24 have witnessed substantial progress, the Legal Daily reported.
On five different areas of optimizing the allocation of power and function, carrying out criminal policies, consolidating personnel construction, maintaining funding mechanism and improving service for the people, the reform tasks cover almost every aspect of people's courts' daily functions.
Sun Jungong, deputy director of the Supreme People's Court General Office, says people's courts will benefit from the implementation of the plan in terms of standardizing judicial practice and improving the supervision system.
