GUIYANG - Five people were buried by a rain-triggered landslide in Southwest China's Guizhou province, authorities said Friday.
The accident caused by continuous downpours occurred at about 3 am Friday in the village of Tianba of Liupanshui City.
Rescuers have rushed to the scene to retrieve the buried people.
Over the last three days, rainstorm has battered parts of Guizhou, killing one person and affecting 200,000 others.
The storm swept across 15 counties and cities, causing floods and landslides, according to the provincial meteorological station.
The station said another round of heavy rains would likely hit the province from Friday to next Tuesday.
