Policeman dies in bus pile-up

One policeman was confirmed dead after a bus ran over the top of a police car in Beijing at 1:43 pm on Friday, according to the Beijing Urgent Care Center, the chinanews.com reported Friday.

The police car folded in two after it was crushed by the 39-seater bus. Another bus was also damaged in the accident, the report said.

There are no reports of casualties on the buses. A female passenger in a taxi which was affected by the collision was sent to hospital suffering head pain, the report said.

The Beijing Public Security Bureau gave no more details.

Reports of three police officers inside the car at the time of the collision were reported widely on Sina Weibo.
