New governor elected for SW China's Yunnan

KUNMING - Li Jiheng was elected governor of southwest Yunnan province on Thursday.
Li, born in January 1957, was elected at the fifth session of the 11th Yunnan Provincial People's Congress, the provincial legislative body.
He was appointed Yunnan's vice governor and acting governor in August 2011.
Li, a native of Guigang in south Guangxi autonomous region, had long worked in Guangxi before moving to Yunnan in 2006.
He served as deputy secretary of Yunnan Provincial Communist Party of China (CPC) Committee from 2006 to 2011.
