A traffic police officer in Chongqing saved a teenage girl by catching her when she jumped from a road bridge.
Wang Jing was dealing with a traffic dispute at about 1:25 am on Oct 11 when he and three colleagues were sent to help a 17-year-old girl who was threatening to commit suicide.
The girl was perched on a 6-meter-high overpass and was crying, onlookers said.
Wang set up traffic controls and then stood under the bridge to persuade the girl to move away from the edge.
She refused and then jumped, prompting Wang to catch her in his arms.
Both the girl and Wang escaped without injury.
