KUNMING - Eight workers remain trapped after a tunnel collapsed on Thursday in Southwest China's Yunnan province, according to local authorities.
The accident occurred around 6:00 am when a tunnel under construction collapsed in the province's Deqen Tibetan autonomous prefecture, local authorities said.
Rescuers have rushed to the scene.
The collapsed tunnel is located on a state-level road linking the county of Shangri-La to Deqen, where another tunnel collapsed on March 29 this year. Nineteen workers were rescued after being trapped in the tunnel.
