QINGDAO - Spilled oil was identified on Tuesday along the coasts of northern Hebei province and northeastern Liaoning province, as oil is continuing to leak off Shandong province in east China.

Along a section of coastline about four kilometers, dried oil particles of one to three centimeters in diameter were found at the Dongdaihe Bathing Beach in the county of Suizhong in Liaoning province.

The particles were confirmed to be from Penglai 19-3 oil field in Shandong at Bohai Bay, said Lin Fangzhong, an official with the State Oceanic Administration (SOA).

In Hebei, a similar oil belt, about 300 meters long was also found at the bathing beach of Jingtang Port, said Lin, adding that the oil was brought by the wind and waves of the Bohai Bay.

According to Lin, it is estimated that oil continues to leak at a speed of one liter per day but is being recovered within the oil field.

Based on the wind and wave direction, spilled oil will be found along the coasts of China at the Bohai Bay, said Lin.
