BEIJING - Top advisor of the Taiwan-based Cross-Straits Common Market Foundation, Frederick Chien, will lead a delegation to the upcoming Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) to be hosted on Chinese mainland, a mainland spokesman said Wednesday.

The BFA's annual conference will start on Friday in Boao, in the southernmost Chinese province of Hainan. Participants will discuss various topics under the main theme of "inclusive development, common agenda and new challenges".
The Boao forum, now on its tenth year, has been hailed as the Asian equivalent of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Also on Wednesday's press conference, Yang Yi said the mainland was willing to facilitate cross-Straits consultations on nuclear safety.
"The Chinese mainland and Taiwan could exchange ideas on establishing an information sharing mechanism and boosting technological exchanges," said Yang, confirming that all nuclear power facilities on the mainland are safe.
