FUZHOU - Two fishermen were killed and two others missing early Thursday after a fishing boat they were on struck a reef and sank in waters off southeast China's Fujian Province, local authorities said.
The accident occurred at around 1:20 am when the fishing boat registered in Fujian hit a reef near the Dongshan Island, said a spokesman with the provincial oceanic affairs department.
Twelve crew members were onboard when the accident occurred, and eight were found alive on the reef.
Two bodies were recovered at about 8:20 am in nearby waters and rescuers were still searching for the missing, the spokesman said.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
