In 2010, China's total value of imports and exports of mechanical and electrical products reached $1.59 trillion, said Zhang Ji, director with the electromechanical products and technology department, during China' s electromechanical technology commerce meeting.

Statistics released by the Ministry of Commerce shows that, in 2010, the export of electromechanical products made up about 60 percent of China' s export trade and remained first in a variety of export goods over 16 consecutive years.

The competitive advantage of high technology added value products, such as cars, boats and aircraft, has become the new growing sectors of exports.

The large scale equipment for electrical power, communications and railway, also showed the obvious advantage and contributed about 30 percent to China' s electromechanical product exports.

In 2010, China exported electromechanical products to 225 countries and regions.
