About 60,000 students took the exam in 33 designated cities and municipalities across China. About 10,000 of them sat for the exam in order to enter Xi’an Jiaotong University, according to Zheng Qinghua, director of the university’s admission office.

The test papers have been formulated and will be graded by professional examination bodies commissioned by the seven universities. The test papers focused on examinees’ practical abilities rather then rote, Zheng said.

The test results will be made known two weeks after the exam. The test results of students applying for Xi’an Jiaotong University will be made known in its website http://zs.xjtu.edu.cn, Zheng added.
