BEIJING - Temperature will rise in most parts of China over the coming three days but no rain or snow will fall to alleviate the drought in northern parts of the country, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said Sunday.

As of Sunday, Beijing has received no precipitation for 98 days, marking the longest precipitation-free period since 1951.
North China wheat-growing regions, including provinces of Shandong, Henan, Hebei, Anhui, Shanxi and Jiangsu, have received little rainfall since October.
The NMC has urged governments in those regions to take immediate measures to grapple with the drought which is likely to get worse.
