Wu Jinglian, an expert with the Development Research Center of China’s State Council, or Cabinet, insisted that according to the market discipline, the price of the railway tickets should be raised.
Wu said the demand for railway tickets obviously exceeds the supply, and a hold on the price will only bring out an army of scalpers who will resell the tickets to others at a much higher price than the original value.
