Broad Pavilion up for auction

The six-story and 2,000-square-meter Broad Pavilion developed by China's Broad Group was completed within 15 hours on March 6 after workers spent two months manufacturing prefabricated parts of the pavilion at factories in Changsha, capital city of Hunan province, where the Broad Group has its headquarters.

The environmentally-friendly structure is L-shaped and can withstand the force of magnitude-9.0 earthquake. The weight of construction materials for every square meter is only one-sixth of conventional materials, and the weight of construction garbage is only one percent of the building.

Inside the pavilion is an earthquake simulator which can imitate the force, direction and duration of the earthquakes that took place in China in recent years. The pavilion receives nearly 20,000 visitors on average every day.
