Good garbage
The Expo 2010 Shanghai shows new ways of sorting garbage to inspire the city to become cleaner. The Taipei Case Pavilion inside the Urban Best Practices Area stresses the importance of educating residents about garbage sorting, although the process may take time and money. Even though expensive new facilities need to be installed in residential communities, the investment will prove worthwhile in the long run.

Zero waste
The Expo 2010 Shanghai's motto of "Better City, Better Life" requires that nothing be wasted when the Expo wraps up. This means that all of the facilities and buildings inside the Expo Garden need to be put to good use when the Expo ends. Visitors have enjoyed an impressive Expo, but they will not appreciate any wasted effort or money. For organizers, "zero waste" is not only a research topic, but also a mission.
