The first Taiwanese Club Forum, which has attracted attention from both home and abroad, was held from Sept 10 to Sept 12 in Shanghai. CPPCC Chairman Jia Qinglin attended the opening ceremony and made a speech.

At the gala, which included a galaxy of eminent figures and leaders in the Taiwan community from around the globe, derivative products of The Drunken Beauty, one of the most representative artworks of Chinese traditional culture, were selected as special gifts by the forum committee to present to all distinguished guests.

Among its large variety of derivative products are embroidery works, beautifully painted china plates, exquisite folding fans and silk scarves - all of which were received with great appreciation from the guests.

In the lobby of the Hilton Hotel, where the forum was held, the original oil painting of The Drunken Beauty, by Liu Linghua, was on display. Many guests on their way to the forum stopped to admire the artwork. Many said they were greatly fascinated by the subtle but vivid characterization of the work.
