Ticket discount for students

An Expo official recently announced entry discounts to encourage local and international students to visit Expo 2010 Shanghai during the summer school holidays. The offer runs until Aug 31.

A number of conditions apply to get the discount. Students with a valid student card can get a discount if they enter the Expo Garden in groups of at least 15, down from the previous number of 30.

For those student groups who don't wish to have a tour guide, private bus transportation and advance reservation to certain pavilions, entry to the Expo Garden for university students will cost 90 yuan ($13) per person on weekends and 80 yuan on weekdays.

For primary and high school students, prices will be reduced to 60 yuan on weekends and 50 yuan on weekdays, under the same conditions.

Discount bookings for student groups can only be carried out by two travel agents: Shanghai Tour Bus Center and Shanghai Yangpu Recuperation Travel Agency Co Ltd.
