SHANGHAI - Heilongjiang Province Week kicked off on Tuesday, and included in the celebration will be a variety of shows and a chance to meet Olympic star athletes.

This week, organizers of the Heilongjiang Pavilion will carry out two daily performances of "Magic of Heilongjiang", and three daily performances each of "China Chant" and "Sound of Nation" in the Expo Garden.

Visitors can enjoy the local opera "Ballads of China", Heilongjiang folk songs, local folk arts and customs shows as well as the singing and dancing performance "Glamorous Heilongjiang" at the grand stage of Baosteel Theater or the main ceremonial square in the Expo Garden.

In the Heilongjiang Pavilion, visitors can see panoramic 3D movies and folk performances riding on simulated snow sleds and participate in interactive games such as curling and skiing.

Each visitor will receive a postcard with 100 well-known tourist attractions in Heilongjiang stamped with the seal of its pavilion. Visitors can send them to their friends or relatives as souvenirs of Expo 2010 Shanghai.

In addition, organizers of the Heilongjiang Pavilion have prepared some local favorites such as Xigema dumplings. Visitors can try these at the Chinese Delicious Food Street in the Expo Garden.

Visitors will also have a chance to meet some famous Heilongjiang athletes this week, such as Yang Yang, who won two gold medals in short track speed skating women's 500 meters and 1,000 meters at 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games, and Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo, who won the gold medal for pair figure skating at 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games.
