Mali celebrates Pavilion Day
Performances by the Nebo Band [en.expo2010.cn]

The West African nation of Mali celebrated its National Pavilion Day with performances of its famed exotic music and dance by the Nebo Band on May 31.

Mali established a diplomatic relationship with China in 1960.

The Mali Pavilion is in the Africa Joint Pavilion of Zone C.

The pavilion theme is "Prosperity of the Urban Economy."

It showcases brilliant ancient civilization and culture, arts, handicrafts and tourism of the fabled landlocked country that stretches from the fertile Sahel to the Sahara desert.

Malian craftsmen demonstrated the creation of Dogon dance masks and other traditional items. Culinary culture is also showcased.
