Children's choir sings songs of grasslands

Children's choir from Hulun Buir

A children's choir from Hulun Buir, known as the world's most beautiful grassland in Inner Mongolia, is performing traditional folk songs this week at Exposition Square on the Puxi Expo site.

The 40 children, aged 5 to 13, will sing at 8:30pm every day through Friday. Their 20 songs, chosen with the theme "My Home," were collected from old herders in the grasslands.

The children rehearsed for 10 months for the Expo without any rest, and never complained, Wu Hongjie, vice-director of the Hulun Buir City's publicity department, said.
