In six week's time, Aluminum China 2010 will open its gate to the global aluminum community for the sixth time at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from June 9 to 11.

Latest booking figures indicate that over 90 percent of the 23,000 sq m exhibition area is already booked out suggesting a record-breaking event.

Event organizer Reed Exhibitions has announced the launch of five new pavilions to highlight various elements: primary aluminum; recycling; aluminum auto parts; academic bodies and industry associations. These pavilions will cover the latest trends and topics most relevant to the development of the China market.

The primary aluminum pavilion aims to engage primary aluminum producers, relevant electrolysis equipment and accessories providers, aluminum processing operations and energy-saving technology providers. Topics discussed will include the aluminum futures market, cost reduction during electrolysis and new applications of aluminum products.

The leading Chinese society on recycling - Recycling Metal Branch of China Non-ferrous Metals Industry Association, a strategic partner of the show, has confirmed their official endorsement of the recycling pavilion and will host the International Aluminum Recycling Forum which will grapple with some of the questions for the industry in the next decade.

To support the launch of the aluminum auto parts pavilion, SAE International HK, a key regional section of the world's automotive engineering community, will cooperate with Aluminum China to host the first edition of the SAE Asia Congress from June 10 to 11, which will coincide with Aluminum China.

Under the theme of "Driving for Greener Lives", the congress will focus on electric vehicle (EV) technology developments in particular with regards to the application of EV technology in China.

A tour of Aluminum China 2010 will be organized as part of the congress program.

In order to provide networking and educational opportunities for exhibitors in the auto parts pavilion, Reed Exhibitions together with China Auto Parts & Accessories Corp will organize a conference on lightweight automotive components on the third day of the event. A number of China leading automotive manufacturers like FAW, Dongfeng, Chang'an and Chery have agreed to participate in the conference.

Jia Mingxing, secretary general of China Non-ferrous Metals Industry Association said: "Shanghai, will once again become host to the greatest gathering of global aluminum professionals in Asia during the World Expo."
