World Expo tickets for national holidays and peak periods are now in short supply.
The Expo organizer announced on April 9 that the remaining small number of peak-day tickets were only available at six selling points in Shanghai.
The 17 peak days which are expected to be especially busy include the May Day and National Day holidays and Expo's final week (October 25 to 31).
Tickets for these peak days are priced at 200 yuan (US$29.31) each compared to the standard 160 yuan.
They are available at the flagship stores of China Mobile (200 Changshou Road, Putuo District and 670 Yingchun Road, Pudong New Area), China Telecom (500 Jiangsu Road, Changning District), Bank of Communications (200 Jiangxi Road M. and 80 Nanjing Road E., Huangpu District) and China Post (5000 Pudong Road S., Pudong New Area).
People can dial hotlines 12580 for China Mobile, 114 for China Telecom, 95559 for Bank of Communications and 11185 for China Post before going there to buy the tickets.
The organizer urged people not to buy tickets from any other places apart from outlets of the four agents -- the only official ticket agents on the Chinese mainland.
The peak-day tickets, that will be sold only ahead of the opening on May 1, have been extremely popular since sales began on March 27 last year.
The organizer plans to sell 400,000 tickets for the opening day on May 1, and most of them have already been snapped up.
Many foreign pavilions will hold grand-opening celebrations during the first three days in May.
October 1 is the National Day celebration of the China Pavilion.
Many stores in foreign pavilions are planning to offer discounts in the last week of Expo as they prepare to close.
