Videos stream into China Pavilion

China Pavilion's appeal for video clips has collected more than 1,000 since its launch last November.

The appeal was launched by China Pavilion's leadership office and four Websites, qq.com, univs.cn, joy.cn and tudou.com. The best 200 video clips will be screened at the China Pavilion during the Expo between May and October this year.

Initial evaluation showed promising videos such as "Ticket Conductor Girl" and "Shopping Mall Cleaner Working at Noon.".Experts said these videos have clean shots, all-round characters and positive personalities and may hopefully enter the best 200.

China Pavilion authorities said that most videos sent in were too odd, focusing on old people and children and lacking diversity from different professions. They also said that these videos lacked regional flavor. Videos should include all big cities as well as medium and smaller cities, they said.

The appeal will run for another month.

The video recorded the roller-skater boy's tour showing the highlights of city life. The compositions were relatively mature and the natural transitions between different shots filled the footage with motion.

"Making Chinese Pie" on joy.cn

The video showed a migrant worker making a Chinese pie, reflecting migrant workers' hard work in cities. Chinese pie peddlers are distinctively national. The footage was clean, shots are stable and the pie-maker is quite undisturbed.

"Female Yoga Teacher" on tudou.com

The video represented quite a few achievements as more and more young women are concerned about their health. The footage clearly showed this profession with relative low-key compositions and recorded a working moment of this teacher. Suggestion: Shoot some yoga learners.
