Expressing China's appreciation for the efforts made by the Vietnamese government and the prime minister for the meetings, Wen said China would join with Vietnam to ensure the success of the meetings, which are held at a time when the international situation was undergoing profound changes.

Wen said he would also exchange views with the prime minister on China-Vietnam relations.

Dung welcomed Wen's attendance for the meetings. He said this year was important for China-Vietnam ties, and the two countries had held many activities of real significance.

The summits include the 13th summit between China and ASEAN, the 13th meeting between ASEAN and China, Japan and the Republic of Korea, and the Fifth East Asia summit.
