HANOI - Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao arrived in Hanoi on Thursday afternoon to attend the summits between the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and its partners.
Wen will also hold talks with some leaders of ASEAN member states and other Asian leaders on the sidelines of the summits, including a meeting with the leaders of Japan and the ROK.
Wen is expected to assure ASEAN partners that China will continue to work with them to deepen cooperation under the framework of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area (CAFTA), especially in such fields as infrastructure construction, finance, agriculture, environmental protection and people-to-people exchanges.
Premier Wen left Beijing on Thursday morning for Hanoi to attend a series of meetings between East Asian leaders from Oct 29 to 30.
