More college students take graduate school admission exam

BEIJING - China's Ministry of Education said Wednesday 1.5 million college students will sit this year's graduate school entrance exam, a 7 percent increase over last year.

Chinese college students have to take a written exam before entering graduate schools.

Since landing a job after graduation has been difficult in recent times, the number of college graduates applying for graduate studies has increased.

In 2009, some 1.4 million took the test, a 13 percent increase from 2008.

The exam will be held on January 15 and 16.
