BEIJING - China urged all parties concerned to jointly create the conditions to restart the Six-Party Talks at the earliest possible date, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hong Lei said Tuesday at a regular press briefing.
Hong made the remarks when asked to comment on the reported 2,000 centrifuges in operation in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
"It has always been China's firm policy to realize denuclearization on the Peninsula through negotiation. Currently, the most urgent task is to restart the Six-Party Talks at the earliest possible date," said Hong Lei.
He said China hoped every concerned nation would work together to return the DPRK nuclear issue back to the path of negotiations, properly handle the concerns of related parties within the framework of the Six-Party Talks and comprehensively implement various targets set in the September 19 Joint Statement.
