The mainland will implement the "early harvest program" of the cross-straits Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) to fully open the mainland's film market to Taiwan films, Yang Yi, the State Council's Taiwan Affairs Office spokesman, said at a regular press conference.

Four services from Taiwan - accounting services, computer services, conference-providing services and research and development services - will also enjoy preferential treatment or tariff cuts on the mainland from Thursday, in accordance with the "early harvest program" agreement, Yang said.

Under the ECFA's "early harvest program," certain goods and services will have their tariffs and duties cut before others, in accordance with the two sides' agreement.
