Wu Poh-hsiung, honorary chairman of Taiwan's ruling Kuomintang (KMT) is to meet Hu Jintao, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Monday in Beijing, and have a discussion about the newly signed cross-Strait trade pact.
Taiwan based United Daily quoted Wu as saying that he would take a message for Taiwan leader Ma Ying-jeou to Hu, without revealing any details.
Hu will also make the first statement on the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA), which is signed in late June and aims to bring the mainland and Taiwan economies closer.
