Heavy rain disrupts train services in SW China city

CHONGQING- All train services were suspended due to thunder storm on Friday morning in Southwestern China's Chongqing Municipality, according to the local flood control authority.

Most flights to and from the Jiangbei International Airport of the city have been delayed.

Torrential rain began to ravage the city since 9:00 am. At around 10:00 pm Thursday, the municipal flood control authority started a warning system for seriously heavy rain.

Local meteorologists forecast that the heavy rain would continue into night Saturday in Chongqing, with rain up to 200 mm in some areas and thunder and strong gale.
