The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) started researches in different cities on income distribution reform, the 21st Century Business Herald reported Tuesday.

Plans on income distributions will be introduced, and all works are in the process of data researching and drafting stage. "We will publish the reform plan as soon as our researches make achievements," said an official from the department in charge of employment and income distribution of NDRC during an interview on May 25.

The research and survey work is to serve China's Twelfth Five-Year Plan in the future.

"We try to make a quantitative criteria on the income distribution, including Gini coefficient, the ratio of urban and countryside income disparity, ratio of income differences among various industries, etc., and this will guide the income-distribution policies in the next 5 to 10 years," said Yang Yiyong, head of NDRC's Department of Social Development.
