BEIJING - China's Supreme People's Procuratorate issued a notice Wednesday, urging all prosecuting authorities to strike hard on government corruption, such as taking or giving bribes to sell or buy government positions.
The crackdown would mainly focus on eight corrupt practises:
-- bribing officials in Party and government, judicial, administrative law enforcement and economic management organs;
-- giving bribes to buy government posts;
-- bribing officials who make decisions on project operation, mineral resources exploration and other operating rights;
-- bribing officials in order to sell inferior products, including foods, medicines, medical equipment, pesticides, seeds, and fertilizers;
-- giving bribes to obtain improper profits in land purchases, home demolitions and agricultural projects;
-- taking or giving bribes many times, or with large amount of money, or bribing to cover up accidents with great losses;
-- other bribery cases concerning violations of people's rights and property or significant losses to the national interest.
