Pakistan and China enjoy a robust, multidimensional, strategic partnership based on mutual respect and trust, forged over the past several decades, the Ambassador of Pakistan to China Masood Khan said in Beijing Monday.
The ambassador was addressing a group of participants from Pakistan's National Defense University, based in Islamabad.
The ambassador said that strengthening cooperation with China is one of the key principles of Pakistan’s foreign policy. He said the two countries are working together toward their common endeavor of building a better future for the two peoples while promoting regional peace, stability and prosperity.
He said China and Pakistan are cooperating in various sectors, including economic matters.
He said there are 26 collaborative projects currently underway, and a Pakistan-China Joint Investment Company has also been formed, with an initial investment of US$200 million, to act as an engine for increasing Chinese investment in Pakistan.
He said the embassy of Pakistan in Beijing is encouraging Chinese entrepreneurs, academics and media persons to visit Pakistan, to get first hand knowledge of the country.
