URUMQI - The bodies of four miners killed in a coal mine collapse in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region have been recovered, said local authorities Friday.

The miners were found by rescuers at 5:06 am Friday and confirmed dead at 8 am, the Wusu Municipal government said in a statement.
The cave-in occurred Monday at 8:30 pm in the pit of Yuanli Coal Mine in Wusu, trapping the four miners.
The mine, originally named Wusu Dianzhangou Coal Mine, ceased production in 2005 when the government shut down small coal mines over safety concerns.
Its annual production capacity was raised from 30,000 to 90,000 tonnes and it was renamed Yuanli in 2007 and resumed production in October 2008 with the regional government's approval.
The city government is still investigating the cause of the accident.
