KUNMING - Three people were killed and 9 others injured Sunday after a truck lost control and crashed into a border checkpoint barracks in southwest China's Yunnan province, local authorities said.
The dead included the driver and two border policemen. The injured, a passenger on the truck and eight border policemen, were under medical treatment and in stable conditions, said a municipal traffic police spokesman.
The truck had a brake failure and crashed into the barracks of Mangyan checkpoint near China-Myanmar border after breaking through a construction roadblock on a provincial highway in Baoshan city at around 6:05 am, the spokesman said.
Further investigation is underway, he added.
