China fully promotes regional co-op: FM

China not only fully participates in but has also raised several proposals to proactively promote regional cooperation, China's Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi said in response to questions from a Japanese reporter during a news conference at the ongoing Third Session of the National People's Congress, xinhuanet.com reported.
Yang said all countries in the Asia-Pacific region should be more open and tolerant in their cooperation with each other as the region has shown a complex tendency to develop by multiple mechanisms, at multiple levels and speeds.
He also pointed out that China has always advocated and supported the leading role of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in facilitating such cooperation and also welcomes other sides to promote the integration of the region.
