China deliberates draft amendment on state secrets

BEIJING: The Standing Committee of the 11th National People's Congress (NPC) on Wednesday deliberated a draft amendment to the law on guarding state secrets.

The draft was submitted for the second reading during the NPC Standing Committee's bimonthly session starting from Wednesday. The draft specified the definition of state secrets.

Lawmakers will review the draft law on mobilization for national defense for the third time.

The amendments to the Administrative Supervision Law and the Copyright Law, which were submitted for first reading, will also be deliberated during the session.

The amendment to the Administrative Supervision Law specifies objects and means for administrative supervision.

The amendment adds specification on offence-reporting system.

The three-day session will also make a final preparation for the 11th NPC's annual session which is scheduled to begin on March 5.
