Chinese President's micro blog spurs large fans

The micro blog of Chinese President Hu Jintao attracted more than 10,000 fans on people.com.cn in just 24 hours yesterday despite not a single word being posted, according to the Southern Metropolis Daily.
The user under the name of Hu Jintao has been proved to be the Chinese president himself and an unnamed source with the website confirmed Hu's registration.
A huge number of netizens applied for their own micro blog on the website after they found Hu was among the users, the report said.
Hu inspected the website on June 20, 2008 and talked with Chinese netizens by bbs.people.com.cn. The website opened an account for Hu then, an unnamed source said.
