The aid included 20 types of relief materials, including tents, stretchers, food, medicines, clothing and water purification equipment, ministry spokesman Huang Xueping said.

Huang said China's military departments had all been mobilized to raise the aid.

The aid is part of an aid package worth 30 million yuan ($4.41 million) announced by China earlier Friday.

A Chinese emergency rescue team has arrived in Haiti, which was rocked by a 7.3-magnitude earthquake on Tuesday.
