(chinadaily.com.cn)
Updated: 2009-07-10 14:37 The following are some selected posts submitted by China Daily website readers on their thinkings about the riots in Urumqi, which left 156 people dead: UKR Whatever happened was very sad. This was totally an inhuman act by brutally killing innocent people. This was not a peaceful procession. It was a violent act. I wish the government could punish all those perpetrators who were involved in taking the innocent people's life Ho Sai Yuen I strongly condemn the attack on Chinese embassies abroad and this is definitely a cowardly and despicable act. These criminals must be apprehended in the countries in which they occured and be brought to justice. Such terroristic attacks must be nip in the bud. stan I am from California. There are lots of Chinese who moved here to work in high tech and they are nicest people. I also travel alot to Xi'an and Shanghai for work. It always seemed to me that China treated its ethnic minorities with a great deal of respect I believe these sad events are caused by outside agitators like Rebiya Kadeer who try to create ethic conflict. I really think America should force her to leave if she is going to act as a terrorist mastermind. My best wishes to all Chinese people in these sad times. Tony TT China should act forcefully against those who participated in the violent acts. The law must be seen to be even-handed, with equal punishment meted out to both Uyghurs and Han Chinese guilty of rioting. Everyone, Uyghurs or Han Chinese, must be discouraged from rioting, however righteous their cause. This event can then be managed as a LAW AND ORDER issue, an internal affair of China, and not a "political repression of the Uyghur minority" issue. |
