Theme: the Living City
National Pavilion Day: June 19
Location: Within Zone C of the Expo Site
Pavilion Features
The pavilion follows the theme of World Expo 2010 Shanghai in a human-oriented way. The Greek city POLIS means literally "a comfortable city for living" or "a vigorous and living city." The pavilion interprets life and functions of the city through its urban-look framework and reminds people of the happy time they've spent in the city. It does not only reveals the daily lives of Greece people, but also their unremitting pursue for a better living condition.
Pavilion Highlights
Highlight 1: The pavilion shortens its 24-hour lives of Greece into 12-hour exhibitions open to the public, which is completely synchronized with lives in Shanghai.
Highlight 2: The pavilion is divided into 10 sections, each representing a different theme of arcades, cities and seas, fairs, ecology, urban and rural areas, theaters, public life, prosperity, walking streets and ports, and plazas (restaurants and grocery stores).
