Seventy-six sculptures were placed in the Expo park Tuesday as part of the landscape for the six-month cultural gala set for May 1 to October 31.
The art works were created by artists from scores of countries including China, the United States, Australia, Japan, Russia, Italy, France, Belgium and Cuba, involving 200-odd designing and creative teams.
The sculptures were installed in four venues, namely the central axis of the Expo park, area along the Huangpu River, the entry plaza and the old site of the Jiangnan Shipyard with a history of more than 100 years.
