Thief and victim sit together for meal at restaurant

A thief who failed to steal a diner's bag at a restaurant in Nanning, capital of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, decided to have a meal with him instead.
Surveillance tapes at the eatery showed that the restaurant boss foiled the thief's attempt to steal a diner's bag, after which the accused and the diner sat on the same table and enjoyed a nice spread.
The owner of the restaurant said he was surprised when the diner invited the thief to have a meal with him. "I phoned the police, but they arrived too late. The thief had already left by then," he said.
