Shanghai official suspected of taking bribes

The former head of Putuo district of Shanghai municipality Cai Zhiqiang is under investigation for allegedly taking bribes, xinhuanet.com reported Sunday.
The scandal broke following an anonymous call alleging Cai misused his authority and accepted bribes. The matter is currently under the judiciary process.
According to the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Shanghai, Cai’s membership in People’s Congress of Shanghai has been ceased.
