Man fined 50,000 yuan for 231 traffic violations

A resident of Haikou, capital of Hainan province, had to pay more than 50,000 yuan ($7,324) in fines for 231 traffic violations last week.
Jia said he had lent his car to friends and relatives a number of times in the past two years.
His car was impounded last week and was asked to pay the fines in return for the vehicle.
