Hu calls on US to loosen control on high-tech products export

BEIJING: Chinese President Hu Jintao on Tuesday urged the United States to relax its control on the export of high-tech products to China.

Hu made the appeal when meeting with visiting US President Barack Obama, who is on his first visit to China since he took office early this year.

Hu also called on the US side to recognize China's market economy status at an early date.
