China to send delegation to APEC ministerial meeting

Updated: 2009-11-06 22:47 BEIJING: China will send a high-ranking delegation to Singapore next week to discuss ways for tackling international financial crisis and other issues in the prelude to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) summit, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu said here Friday.
In preparation for the 17th APEC summit, the ministerial meeting is expected to focus on such issues as the international financial crisis, transforming the economic growth pattern, speeding up regional economic integration, support for multilateral trade systems and the future development of APEC. APEC, which was established in 1989 and has 21 members, is the premier forum for facilitating economic growth, cooperation, trade and investment in the Asia-Pacific region. |
